STEAM HEATED DRYER INSPECTION

SCOPE OF INSPECTION

Powerplant Technologies Inc. proposes to furnish all necessary services for labor, materials, consumables, tools and equipment as required to perform the following inspection sequence.
If vessels were manufactured to the ASME Code and registered with the National Board, secure copies of original data reports and subsequent R-forms filed with National Board.
Provide a detailed drawing of each identified dryer showing the dryer configuration, areas of NDE, and the NDE results.
Perform a detailed internal and external visual examination.  Internal inspection may be performed utilizing remote devices and techniques.
Perform Magnetic Particle Examination on dryer heads and adjacent shell.  The examination will be made utilizing an AC/DC type yoke with a wet fluorescent medium if conditions permit (preferred), or the dry powder technique.
Develop and ultrasonic thickness profile of entire length of shell section in four (4) areas 90° apart.  Profile will be developed with a digital A-scan display and representation.  Profile will be detailed in item 2.
Ultrasonic test twenty (20%) percent of the head bolts (if equipped), for cracks.
Complete a written evaluation that will include mechanical deficiencies, relevant NDE indications, and photographs for your documentation and review as necessary.  If requested, it will also include quotations for any repair work that may be required.

NOTE: If any relevant indications are found, a more intense inspection will be performed in that area.
